New recruiter offers 5 star service to hospitality industry
Morgan Consulting announces its new Hospitality Division
Morgan Consulting this week announced a new Hospitality Division providing executive and senior management level recruitment services, across all facets of the hospitality industry. From their Melbourne head office, Morgan’s Hospitality Division will offer personalised services to clients and candidates Australia wide as well as Globally.
Providing niche positions
With a focus on the roles that employers and other agencies have traditionally struggled to fill, Morgan Consulting will provide clients with access to highly skilled and experienced candidates, across a range of fields. “Worldwide there is a skills shortage in certain areas such as revenue management, specialized cuisine chefs, and engineering & technical services across the hospitality industry.” Says Mardi Grey-Byrne, Manager of the Hospitality Division. “There is a definite need for a highly specialized agency to support businesses in accessing professionals”.
The Recruitment Philosophy
Morgan Consulting’s philosophy of “Big enough to deliver, small enough to care” ensures the recruitment experience is truly tailored to each and every client. Morgan Consulting are focused on delivering volume recruitment during pre-opening or expansion all the way through to tailored specific search & selection assignments such as looking for a chef with specific cuisine experience. “At Morgan Consulting we provide excellence in recruitment regardless of the size of the client. That means the independent operator has the same level of service and attentiveness and the big chain clients.” Says Grey-Byrne.
The new Hospitality team is being led by Mardi Grey-Byrne, a seasoned industry veteran who has worked with brands such as IHG, Park Plaza Hotels, Sodexo, and Jumeirah Group in various capacities including Corporate HR, Operations Management, Food & Beverage, Contract Catering and Events. Most recently Grey-Byrne was the Owner and Managing Director of a specialized recruitment firm in Dubai and had previously headed up the Northern England region of Sodexo Prestige’s recruitment division, as well as working for Blue Arrow Catering Recruitment UK.
“We get hospitality, and we have taken the time to listen to our clients. We understand the reasons behind the dissatisfaction with the current providers. We aim to provide a level of service and advocacy that will deliver tangibly better outcomes for both client and jobseeker.”
Local flavour with an international reach
Morgan Consulting’s established worldwide contacts, combined with Grey-Byrne’s international experience in Europe and the Middle East, means the new hospitality division will offer global coverage for both Clients and Candidates. “We can target individual candidates, anywhere in the world, which is perfect for organisations looking to fill Corporate and Regional roles” says Grey-Byrne. “and relationships with clients around the world means job seekers considering working overseas should talk to us about different opportunities available. In hospitality more than most industries, it really is a Global Village”.
Industry bouncing back
“After a year of hiring freezes and tight budgets, the industry is bouncing back” continues Grey-Byrne. Recent figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed the Restaurant and Catering industry turned over $1.6bn in December 09, a 14.5 percent increase on the same period in 2008. Australian’s tourism numbers are also holding strong with the ABS figures revealing 5.6 million short term visitors in 2009, the same as the previous year despite global financial worries. “Now is the time for organizations to identify the key positions they need to create or fill in 2010, and start sourcing the talent, because their competitors are surely doing so”.
