RAK AIRWAYS HOSTS INAUGURAL TRADE AWARDS CEREMONY TO HONOUR TRAVEL INDUSTRY PARTNERS
Ras Al Khaimah, U.A.E., 12.10.11 - RAK Airways, a national carrier of the UAE, honoured their top 20 travel industry partners from the UAE for their outstanding contribution to generating sales over the last one year. The inaugural trade awards ceremony, which also marked the airline’s first anniversary since its re-launch in October 2010, was held at The Cove Rotana in Ras Al Khaimah, and was attended by RAK Airways Chairman, Sheikh Omar Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Vice Chairman, Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qassimi and Chief Executive Officer, Omar Jahameh.

RAK Airways Chairman, Sheikh Omar Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, said, “We are extremely pleased to celebrate our first anniversary with our partners from the travel trade industry; their valuable support has contributed to our success over the last twelve months. As we grow our operations and add to our route network the travel trade community will continue to be a vital part of our long-term success. Our hope is that, this awards ceremony marks the first of many opportunities that allows us to appreciate the efforts and achievements of our travel trade partners in promoting RAK Airways.”
The trade awards ceremony honoured a total of 20 trade partners. The top three awards went to Jamal Travel Agency - Ras Al Khaimah, who won the Gold Award ; Al Safina Travel & Tourism - Ras Al Khaimah, who won the Silver Award and Al Thuraya Holidays - Ras Al Khaimah, who won the Bronze Award. Deira Travel & Tourism Agency, Dubai, took home the Special Mention Award.
RAK Airways recently announced the expansion of its route network with flights to Peshawar and Lahore in Pakistan. Effective November 2011, RAK Airways will offer two flights a week to Peshawar and Lahore.
Included in every fare on every flight is a full hot meal and beverages served free on-board all flights, along with a baggage allowance of 30kg per passenger in addition to the normal hand baggage allowance. There is also a free shuttle service between other Emirates and RAK International Airport for each flight.
RAK Airways provides free parking for passengers who wish to drive to RAK International Airport which is just 30 minutes away from Sharjah and 45 minutes away from Dubai.
