Renovated Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers Leads Charge to Revitalise ‘Old Dubai’
Offering a Truly Authentic Experience of Dubai, Initial Guest Feedback Proves Renovation Efforts Are Warmly Welcome
Dubai, United Arab Emirates : The iconic Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, one of the first five-star hotels in Dubai, is leading the charge to revitalize ‘old Dubai’, following a USD 50 million renovation which has proved highly successful for the creekside property.
“With exciting changes to the Dubai Creek area on the horizon, announced earlier this year by the Dubai Municipality, and with the support of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers look forward to being amidst what will certainly be a landmark tourism destination for the country. The plans of improving the Dubai Creek in the hopes of achieving a Unesco World Heritage site declaration are highly anticipated, and we believe that such development will increase traffic and tourist appeal in the area,” said Stephan Vanden Auweele, General Manager for the hotel and Dubai Area Director for Starwood.
Having taken into account the findings by a YouGov survey conducted last year which surveyed more than 1000 regionally-based travellers, the Sheraton Dubai Creek now offers guests the key aspects sought from hotel experiences upon arrival. The survey revealed that these included a good view from their room, fine dining restaurants, activities such as visiting museums and cultural exhibitions, shopping in malls and traditional markets, sightseeing, and going to the beach.
The hotel’s major renovation came as part of Sheraton’s firm belief in keeping up with the fast and dynamic nature of the market in Dubai in a fully customer-oriented approach, and has been highly welcomed by guests and visitors. This was evident with recent TripAdvisor rankings of 39, up from a humble rating of 119, and food and beverage outlets ranking among the top 10.
The refurbishment and revitalisation project included 268 fully renovated guestrooms and suites with ceiling-high windows, and signature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper® beds providing guests on both, business and leisure trips, a luxurious sleeping experience. Guests and visitors can feast at one of the hotel’s updated world-class dining outlets with options such as the elegant Italian Vivaldi Restaurant & Lounge by Alfredo Russo offering an all-day bar and alfresco dining area, the award-winning Indian Ashiana by Vineet restaurant, and the fun and interactive Creekside Japanese Restaurant, among others. In addition to the mouth-watering cuisine prepared by internationally renowned chefs with Michelin-starred restaurants, guests can enjoy breath-taking views of the old Dubai contrasted against the modern skyline.
The improvements have made the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers an exceptional accommodation option being within a 15-minute drive from the airport, with excellent links across the city. The hotel is also strategically located on the historic Dubai Creek that offers guests a unique cultural experience providing a true representation of Dubai through a glimpse of heritage in combination with easy access to the contemporary parts of the Emirate.
“The UAE remains a top tourist destination across the world by offering a variety of lifestyle activities ranging from long-stretched, sandy beaches and world-class shopping malls, to international fine dining and nightlife, as well as a unique cultural experience amongst much more. The UAE has successfully brought together heritage and modernity catering to the interests of people from all walks of life,” added Vanden Auweele.
Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers will be exhibiting at Arabian Travel Market 2015, running from 4- 7 May 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre.
