Pierchic’s annual seafood festival ends with the ‘GALICIAN OCTOPUS FIESTA’
28 August 2016, Dubai, UAE - This summer, Pierchic invites guests to set sail on a memorable culinary journey along Europe’s diverse coastal landscape. From 22 July, the award-wining venue has welcomed its annual seafood festival; playfully called Shellebration. This world-class gourmet initiative celebrates the vibrancy of seasonal European dining, showcasing a specific seafood speciality each week. In this way, the festival pays tribute to the freshest produce, authentic regional recipes and full-bodied flavours that will leave guests refreshed and inspired week after week.
The sixth and final week of the Shellebration festival, running from 28 August to 4 September, heads back to Spain, to the picturesque Atlantic coastline of Galicia. The region, famous for its gastronomic food festivals, is particularly known for their Octopus Festival, which takes place in the month of August, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
Pierchic closes this year’s Shellebration festival with Galicia’s signature dish, traditionally prepared Pulpo a la Gallega, paprika flavoured Galician octopus, served on a wooden board, with potato and pure virgin oil. The simple dish is as hearty and delightful as the region itself and represents Spain’s unique culinary offering at its best.
The Pierchic masters of culinary craft will respect the traditional preparation methods of this dish and its 125-year heritage, adding just a touch of their chic signature flair by serving Roasted Pulpo a la Gallega with smoked paprika, potato foam, olive oil, violet potatoes and lemon thyme. The Sommelier’s recommendation is the Albarino grape, a perfect match with a light, aromatic bouquet.
The final week of the Shellebration festival makes for a fiesta, full of sizzling fresh flavour for any gourmand. A fitting end to a wonderful six week journey of the European coastlines and the treasure that lay in their bays.
Chef Paul Lupton has created a six-week programme of distinctive yet equally indulgent seafood concepts that will be offered from July 22nd to September 4th. Each week, embark on a culinary journey to exquisite coastal towns through sampling dishes and beverages inspired by the unique cuisine of that region. The luxury dining experience will include themes such as, Marseilles Seafood Market, Valencian Seafood Paella, Feast of St Antony, Posh Fish & Chic, Lobster Spaghetti from the Amalfi Coast and the Galician Octopus Fiesta.
