August 2011: With Rezidor’s Responsible Business month September just around the corner, the team at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City is once again initiating various activities to make a difference when it comes to protecting the environment and engaging the local community.
Rezidor’s company-wide Responsible Business programme was launched in 2001 and is dedicated to three main areas of responsibility:
· Taking responsibility for the health and safety of employees and customers
· Respecting social and ethical issues in the company, as well as in the community
· Reducing our negative impact on the environment
For the 6th consecutive year the hotel’s engineering team will be visiting the Dubai Autism Centre this month again to service all air-conditioning units and give a hand with any other technical assistance needed. Founded in 2001, Dubai Autism Center is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit organization in the United Arab Emirates serving children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Taking another step towards Responsible Business at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City, the team is introducing a new initiative whereby in-house guests may reward themselves with credit for Food & Beverage or extra Club Carlson points, Rezidor’s Loyalty Programme, in return of declining the daily housekeeping service. This includes the change of linen and bath towels. The ‘You can make a difference!’ door hangers will be available in the hotel throughout the month of September.
“We strongly believe that Responsible Business is getting more and more important and therefore our team regularly comes up with new environmental friendly activities. Our latest initiative, the implementation of a specially created door hanger encouraging guests to get involved in the hotel’s Responsible Business activity, is certainly another footstep to reduce the negative impact on the environment,” says François Galoisy, the hotel’s General Manager.
