Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 8 February 2016: Dubai Food Festival, a 17-day culinary celebration of events, activities and promotions across the city, has unveiled a once-in-a-lifetime ‘Dine With The Stars’ gala dinner event, alongside an array of Masterclasses with international and local chefs.
The Festival, which runs from 25 February - 12 March, invites foodies to sign up for these unique opportunities and meet and learn from their favourite celebrity chefs, including Australian MasterChef legends, George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan, ‘My Kitchen Rules’ star Manu Feildel, as well as Matt Moran, Shannon Bennett, and Chef Manal Al Alem.
Masterclasses with these chefs, as well as MasterChef India winner Nikita Gandhi and MasterChef New Zealand winner Tim Read, will take place at Dubai's School of Culinary and Finishing Arts (SCAFA) on 26 and 27 February, and from 4-6 March. Additionally, the Festival is launching a ‘Local Greats Series’, where celebrated chefs from Dubai restaurants including Coya, TRESIND, Tom & Serge and Jean-George will unveil their top tricks and tips from 8-11 March. Celebrated chefs will unveil something for everyone; whether you are a couple seeking a romantic evening to remember, a group of foodie enthusiasts wanting to learn something new or a business looking to arrange a special day out for your team.
“Our diverse schedule of Masterclass series enhances Dubai Food Festival’s programme by providing a hands-on and highly interactive experience for our visitors to learn from some of the most high-profile chefs in both Dubai and across the world,” said Debra Greenwood, Director of Dubai Food Festival, an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) that organises the event. “These Masterclasses provide a fun, new activity for businesses, couples and groups of friends to enjoy together.”
‘Dine With The Stars’ will be launched in unforgettable sparkling style, with the five Australian celebrity chefs crafting an exclusive five-course spectacular menu for one night only for guests on Friday 26th February. The star-studded evening will be peppered with entertainment and personal anecdotes from the elite chefs around all things food. Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime event will be revealed soon.
George Calombaris said: “I’m so excited to be coming back to Dubai again and am honoured to be invited to be part of the upcoming Dubai Food Festival in February and cooking alongside some great friends and chefs for the Gala event. This will be a first with us all cooking together, anything could happen, but it’s sure to be a night not to be missed!”

Masterclasses series sponsored by Al Islami will take place at Dubai's School of Culinary And Finishing Arts (SCAFA), with Shannon kicking things off on Friday 26 February from 10-11:30, followed by Gary (12-13:30) and George (14-15:30). Budding gastronomists can also sign up for interactive demos at SCAFA with George at 12-12:30 and Gary from 14-14:30. On Saturday 27 February, fans can sign up for Masterclasses with Matt (10-11:30), Manu (12-13:30) and Manal (14-14:30), as well as demos with Manu (10-10:30), Shannon (11-11:30), Matt (12-14:30) and Manu (16-17:00).
Also taking place at SCAFA will be Masterclass sessions with India 2015 winner Nikita Gandhi and MasterChef New Zealand 2015 winner on Friday 4 March.
The ‘Local Greats’ Masterclass series, also sponsored by Al Islami, will take place at SCAFA with different Dubai restaurants’ chefs between 8-11 March, including Coya’s Chef Roland on the 8th, TRESIND Chef Himanshu on the 9th, Tom & Serg Chef Tom on the 10th, and Jean-George’s Chef Colin on the 11th.
