Taj Dubai celebrates the Festival of Spice
Experience and indulge in tales of the Spice Route all through October
September 18, 2016, DUBAI: As summer slowly fades away and winter creeps in, Indian families around the world make arrangements for one of the most eagerly anticipated and biggest festivals of the year – Diwali, the ‘festival of lights’. Taj Dubai opens its arms to the festivities, showcasing the very best of multi-cultural Dubai through Indian art, culture and gastronomy under one roof.
Month-long festivities include rich aromatic food cooked in the award-winning Indian designer kitchen Bombay Brasserie, an all-new afternoon tea ritual at Byzantium Lounge, a Chef’s Table with the hotel’s Executive Chef, special gentle-spice infused Jivaniya spa treatments at Jiva Spa and a glorious celebration of traditions with Karva Chauth and Dussehra culminating in the grand Diwali fest.
Bombay Brasserie, Taj Dubai’s award-winning contemporary and cutting edge restaurant serves modern Indian sharing food and extraordinary cocktails backed by the quintessential Taj service against a backdrop of vibrant color. With its open kitchen, oversized art, extraordinary views and signature bar area this restaurant is dramatic in every way. The Bombay Brasserie designer kitchen will be busy cooking up a feast all through October, focusing on an early-bird offer for early diners or theatre-aficionados heading towards Dubai Opera. On presentation of their ticket stubs either pre or post opera, theatre goers are entitled to 20% off their total bill. Come October 14th, the hotel’s Executive Chef Jitin Joshi takes centre stage at the Bombay Cooking School as he educates guests on the role of spices within Indian cuisine followed by a flavourful brunch priced at AED 545 for a tasting menu with wine pairing.
Karva Chauth – a day of fasting till moon rise, primarily celebrated by North Indian women will be celebrated with all its traditional romance and grandeur at Bombay Brasserie on October 19th. What better way to break your fast than under the moonlit skies with Burj Khalifa in the backdrop?
The elegant Byzantium Lounge takes this festive spirit to launch its ‘Tales of the Spice Route’ afternoon tea ritual throughout the month with celebrated Indian designer Rohit Bal’s much awaited trunk show on October 22nd.
The month long celebrations await their grand finale as Dussehra and Diwali approach. Exquisitely curated Taj-Dubai Diwali hampers filled with festive goodies are available for purchase at AED 175.
Making Taj Dubai the only place to be this Diwali, guests can expect a traditional aarti-tikka-garland welcome at the hotel, amidst colourful Rangoli, light sparklers and festivities which will lift the mood all through the hotel, while a grand evening brunch at Bombay Brasserie presents the perfect end to the day. The brunch, including a live counter (street-style snacks), is priced at AED 295 per head with an unlimited tasting menu.
Tapping in on the ancient beauty secrets using Indian spices, Jiva Spa offers a specially designed treatment ‘Jivaniya’ – a gentle Masala scrub that not just relaxes but pampers the skin resulting in a natural glow just in time for festivities.
This October, come to Taj Dubai and experience festivities the Taj way.
