The newly renovated ‘Zitouni’, which when translated from Arabic means ‘Olive’, is decorated in colours reminiscent of the Mediterranean – bright yellows, greens and terracotta – and is the perfect spot to taste the heady flavours of Egyptian cuisine. The inspiring experience starts in the main dining area of the all-day restaurant, with colonnades and secluded alcoves creating an atmosphere ideal for power breakfasts, buffet business lunches and casual dinners. Local fruit displays and food stations interspersed throughout add an impressive touch to the culinary display.
Zitouni offers food from different regions in Egypt with a menu that connects with the local gastronomic roots. Guests can enjoy a spread of regional specialties including Nubian-style fresh bakery and black lentils, molokhia and okra from upper Egypt, authentic coastal seafood and fatta, ouzi cooked in sand from the north coast, fish tagines from Port Said and Circassia chicken, all enjoyed while taking in panoramic views of the Nile.
A team of talented Egyptian chefs oversee the kitchens to ensure true authenticity in the preparation of the wide range of breads, mezze and grilled dishes to be found on the menu.
