Twenty-First Century Tea Welcomed to Middle East
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Pays Tribute to Tea Traditions
Dubai, UAE, 4 November 2012 – This November, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is once again paying tribute to the grand tradition of “taking tea” with its Get Steeped with Fairmont program. Across the Middle East tea has been a longstanding beverage for welcoming guests, catching up with friends, spending time with family, or business meetings. As the tea culture grows in popularity, green teas, matcha teas, tea lattes and even “mar-tea-nis” are taking the place of traditional steeped black tea, as the health benefits and antioxidant properties of tea varieties are more widely explored and appreciated.
With a reputation for knowing how to do tea right – from classic afternoon tea with scones to a tea party for the little ones - Fairmont Hotels & Resorts rolls out the silver cart for tea aficionados of all ages. Expanded from a one-day celebration to a full month of festivi‘teas’, the 2012 program is sure to impress with traditional afternoon tea services, sommelier-led tastings, fancy hat competitions, tea-infused cocktails, and even a new, special tea blend.
Get Steeped with Fairmont is being celebrated at Fairmont locations throughout November. Across the Middle East traditional favorites, tasty tea pairings, and exclusive menu offerings are available. Guests at Fairmont Dubai can enjoy a special Get Steeped cocktail featuring chamomile tea-infused syrup. In Abu Dhabi, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr invites patrons to The Chocolate Gallery November 10th for an extravagant Golden Afternoon Tea Delight; hosting the 2nd Annual Mad Hatter Affair and croquet tournament on The Chocolate Gallery lawn complete with savory sandwiches, pastries and truffles.
Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, in Saudi Arabia is serving a refreshing beverage of Fairmont Berry Berry Tea, orange and apple slices, sparkling water, and a touch of fresh mint as the perfect afternoon treat for guests. Heading to Cairo, Fairmont Heliopolis & Towers is offering an attractive afternoon tea menu until November 10th, hosting tea tastings, serving tea-infused cocktails and mocktails, and much more. Not far away, Fairmont Nile City’s Onyx Lounge is presenting an authentically local afternoon tea affair complete with sommelier and tastings.
In the hotels and online, guests will also be able to purchase Eclipse, the first in a new series of Fairmont select tea blends which will be offered annually. Available for a limited time, this unique-to-Fairmont black tea is flavorful and full-bodied, offering up a citrusy zest with hints of oak cask and caramel sweetness.
