MIRDIF CITY CENTRE - Mirdif City Centre is instilling a sense of national pride amongst students of the community through an inter-school arts project called ‘My UAE National Awards Day’. On display, Mirdif City Centre showcasing 20 ‘green’ arts sculptures – all made from recyclable materials such as plastic bottles and cardboard, handmade by students across six participating schools in the community. Inspired by the past, present and future heritage of the UAE, these sculptures reflect three themes: native wildlife, national landmarks – or traditional or modern forms of transportation.
Mirdif City Centre’s ‘My UAE National Awards Day’ art project was conceived to embrace ‘Spirit of the Union’, building upon the pillars of ‘Our Journey’, ‘Cosmopolitan Community’ and ‘Our Future’ and is a celebration of national pride to be shared with residents and visitors in the community. The 20 sculptures will be on display in the Oasis Walk area, where visitors to the mall will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite creation.
On December 3, Mirdif City Centre will celebrate the 40th UAE National Day in the true spirit of community by hosting a Grand Parade, featuring students from schools in the local community. Under the theme ‘My UAE National Day Parade’, over 150 children will be led by a group of Arabic drummers and costumed performers, marching proudly in celebration of the milestone occasion of 40th UAE National Day. The Grand Parade will culminate in the Central Galleria where the Awards Ceremony for the inter-school arts project will take place, and all participating schools will be recognised for their UAE-inspired sculptures.
Starting at 3:00pm on Saturday December 3, Mirdif City Centre will come alive with a vibrant and celebratory showcase of national pride as drummers, costumed performers and students perform in a Grand Parade. Students will be sporting their own decorated UAE-themed T-Shirts while the drummers and performers will entertain shoppers and visitors. The Grand Parade will finish in the Central Galleria where the My UAE National Day Awards Ceremony will take place.
The Awards Ceremony will congratulate the efforts of all participating students in the My UAE National Day Awards inter-school arts project. Six schools, inspired by some of the UAE’s most iconic landmarks, animals or modes of transport have handcrafted 20 ‘green’ arts sculptures made from recyclable materials. On December 3, Mirdif City Centre will award the winning arts sculpture and school with 20 laptops, for educational use. All participating schools will also be awarded the gift of language, with a library of 20 Arabic books from Kalimat to promote the native language of the UAE.
SHARJAH CITY CENTRE and AJMAN CITY CENTRE will commemorate 40th UAE National Day with cultural activities, shows and entertainment for the entire family. In the spirit of community, both malls are encouraging residents and visitors to join the festivities and celebrate the milestone anniversary of the UAE.
Sharjah City Centre and Ajman City Centre will be adorned with festive decor throughout. Moreover, each mall will be distributing various UAE National Day-themed items such as pins, caps and flags to encourage shoppers, residents and mall staff to display their sense of pride and affection.
From December 1-3, Sharjah City Centre will be hosting cultural dance shows featuring the Ayala and Yola traditional dance. Shows will take place three times a day, and will feature national Emirati songs and instruments. Furthermore, throughout the celebratory period, children and adults will be treated to vibrant roaming entertainment –providing the perfect photo opportunity for individuals to remember and cherish this historical occasion.
Similarly, from now to December 3, Ajman City Centre – who has collaborated with the Ministry of Culture Youth & Community Development, the Ajman Chamber of Commerce, and the Ajman Police – will be presenting an array of fun-filled activities such as a performance by the Armed Forces HQ and a musical performance by the National Operetta. A children’s carnival will also be located within the mall, with cultural activities and exciting competitions courtesy of Ajman Police available for all ages.
The community-minded mall has also organised a mini-walkathon where children from Colours English Nursery can march across the mall as they proudly sing national UAE songs. Plus as a special treat, those visiting Ajman City Centre between December 1 and December 3 can come together and indulge in traditional food – all generously provided by the Ajman Chamber of Commerce.
DEIRA CITY CENTRE - In commemoration of the UAE’s 40th National Day, Dubai’s first-ever mall Deira City Centre, is revealing a news headline exhibition of the UAE’s most memorable stories from nearly 40 years.
On display at the mall’s Central Stage, this enlightening exhibition recognizes all aspects of the nation’s life and heritage – highlighting the momentous growth and prosperity of this great nation so many call home. As well as an educational experience, the community-based presentation will provide Deira City Centre’s visitors with an opportunity to collectively celebrate this important milestone together – embracing the spirit of unity and heritage of this ever-changing cosmopolitan community.

MALL OF THE EMIRATES - Mall of the Emirates will be a showcase of national pride in celebration of 40th UAE National Day from December 1-3. Hosting a number of exciting cultural events and activities for the family, Mall of the Emirates is embracing the spirit of unity and heritage and bringing the community together for this milestone occasion. Highlights for the 40th UAE National Day festivities include some ‘grand’ elements including a giant electronic board displaying congratulatory greetings from all visitors at the mall.
Dressed in 40th UAE National Day décor, Mall of the Emirates will be adorned with the patriotic colours of the UAE. At the heart of the mall, the Central Galleria will feature a larger-than-life 5m UAE flag, complementing the centerpiece attraction – a giant electronic message board featuring ever-changing inspirational and congratulatory 40th UAE National Day greetings. By simply sending a SMS, shoppers, residents and tourists at Mall of the Emirates will be able to spread their national day wishes in a unique and meaningful way.
Mall of the Emirates will also offer visitors the opportunity to experience some of the traditional pastimes and cultural practices of the UAE. Falcons, admired in the UAE for their beauty and grandeur will be on display for photo opportunities, while affording visitors the chance to learn about Bedouin history and the sport of falconry.
Roaming entertainment will provide family fun throughout the mall, featuring mascots from the popular children’s and local Emirati show, Khossa Bossa. There will also be face painters will add a dash of UAE colour to children’s faces and performing stilt walkers to entertain visitors
MAJID AL FUTTAIM FASHION - the retailing arm of Majid Al Futtaim Ventures, is celebrating the 40th anniversary of National Day this December through their Big 40 campaign, which will offer many discounts and prizes to customers during the countdown to National Day.
Majid Al Futtaim Fashion wanted to commemorate the 40th anniversary of National Day with the pride and excitement on December 2. The BIG 40 campaign will run across all Majid Al Futtaim Fashion retail partners - Juicy Couture, Mexx and Jane Norman – throughout the UAE.
