Introducing Alexander Blair, General Manager Joining Oriental Residence on the 11th February 2013, Alexander brings with him 22 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. He joins the property directly from the Maldives, where he was Resort Manager at Gili Lankanfushi. In this role, he was responsible for the management of the resort's overall operations including butler service, guest relations, housekeeping, F&B, IT, marine biology and engineering in the resort’s 45 sumptuous over-sized water villas. During his tenure at Gili Lankanfushi, the resort was recognised in the Condé Nast Gold List 2012, the World Travel Awards 2012 and Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice awards 2013. With his outstanding record of successfully developing and managing operations, building excellent guest relationships, and improving the market profile, reputation and profit of world class, award-winning ultra-luxury five star hotels and resorts, Blair will lead the Oriental Residence team to set new standards for luxury accommodation in Bangkok.
Following a full 12 months in operation, Oriental Residence is forecasting a 100% increase in revenue growth in 2013. The outlook for year ahead is very positive and a 13% increase in overall occupancy is anticipated. According to 2012 figures, Asian guests contribute to 60% of the guest mix, followed by European guests with 14% and the USA with 12%.
