Use your noodle, scoff and win at Wok In
Wok In invites fun-loving foodies with big appetites to try their luck at the hotel’s first annual noodle eat-off competition, with one hungry contestant set to slurp, gulp and swallow their way to victory
Fun is on the menu this May at the five-star Mövenpick Hotel Deira with the launch of Wok In’s ‘Eat Your Noodle’ eating competition.
If you think you have the stamina – and the stomach – to follow in the footsteps of world competitive eating champion Takeru Kobayahsi of Japan, head on down to Wok In on the 25th of May to join the line-up of eager foodies ready to slurp, gulp and swallow their way to victory.
The contestant who eats the most noodle portions in three minutes will be crowned the 2012 ‘Wok In, Eat Your Noodle’ champion, and will win one year’s worth of free noodles at Wok In, a membership to Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ Circle M loyalty programme, a weekend stay in an Executive Suite with breakfast included, AED 500 to spend in Spiritz bar, AED 250 to spend in Jigsaw restaurant, and a three-month gym membership to BodyTech.
“Competitive eating is an art form and noodle lovers need to do their homework before the big day if they want to walk away from the table as champion noodle-nosher,” said Mr Michael Nugent, General Manager, Mövenpick Hotel Deira.
“Second and third place runners-up will be awarded vouchers to enjoy in the hotel’s exciting restaurants and bars, as well as an invitation to return next year to contest the title once again,” he added.
Eat Your Noodle takes place at Wok In on 25 May, 2012 from 5-7 pm.

As the global hospitality industry continues to ponder the pace of business, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with real estate developer, Seven Tides, prepares for the opening of more than 1,200 rooms over four properties in Dubai, UAE.
This includes the 216-room Mövenpick Hotel Deira which opened in January 2011 to offer an efficient welcome to visiting business executives, inquisitive shoppers, small meeting groups and lunch & dinner time diners in Dubai’s traditional locale of Deira on the north-side of the Creek from January.
Also within the pack of four is the 396-room Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel, a property of iconic stature both inside and out, which is cleverly inspired by the journeys of the 14th century Arabian explorer, Ibn Battuta himself. The hotel is located in ‘New Dubai’ and opened its doors to business travellers, holidaymakers and destination tourists in October 2010.
Meanwhile, the Asian-inspired Royal Amwaj Resort & Spa on Palm Jumeirah will open in 2012. At first glance, the 293-room retreat-like resort seems to be playing a credible tune as it blows its own trumpet by announcing some ‘industry firsts’, including an upscale all-inclusive package available through preferred travel partners.
