MALAYSIA, KUALA LUMPUR – August, 2014 –Westin Hotels & Resorts unveiled the next stage of the year-long Westin Well-Being Movement with the announcement of two new nutrition-focused offerings, The Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids and Westin Fresh by The Juicery, in partnership with SuperChefs™ and The Juicery.
As an advocate for wellness and healthy eating, Westin teamed up with SuperChefs, a group of doctors, dentists, dieticians, chefs and other experts dedicated to educating kids on the importance and the fun of eating smart, to create The Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids. The extensive new menu includes eight signature dishes created and tested by kids, receiving a stamp of approval from notoriously finicky eaters. A new, dedicated fresh juice and smoothie offering, Westin Fresh by The Juicery, features juices and smoothies designed for business and leisure guests seeking healthy options while traveling.
To set the stage for the new program, The Westin Kuala Lumpur and The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa will be rolling out the campaign with interesting and fun activities related to the brand campaign for the in-house guests. To celebrate the launch in Malaysia, The Westin Kuala Lumpur will be activating the Westin Fresh by The Juicery “Happier Hour” program starting from 25 August 2014.The hotel team will set up a bar next to its lobby every Friday from 4.00pm to 5.00pm, offering free juices chosen from the Juicery menu for guests to sip and unwind in the evening. The juices will be rotated every week to give a refreshing and exciting taste for guests to enjoy and experience. In line with this local activation program, for one whole week, in-house guests will be given a SuperFoodsRx inspired room amenity that includes dark chocolate wrapped in a charming ribbon when they check in to the hotel.
Not forgetting the little ones, parents can sign up their kids through a dedicated Kids Pots, Pans & Palate Cooking Class at Daily Treats, available every Saturdays and Sunday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Children aged from 5 to 17 years old are encouraged to start exploring their passion in the culinary industry by learning how to make pastries, cookies, sandwiches, salads, cupcake decorating and pizza making with guidance from the hotel’s chef. Just an hour flight away from Kuala Lumpur is The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa. Located on the mythical island of Langkawi, guests can have the pleasure of sipping on the delicious and healthy juices and smoothies available during breakfast time at Seasonal Taste Restaurants, as part of the Westin Fresh by The Juicery programme. Kid-Tested Menus Puts the Fun into Healthy Eating
The Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids demonstrates The Westin Kuala Lumpur’s dedication to the well-being of its guests – big and small – by now offering a menu fully dedicated to healthy options for kids at its hotels around the world. The Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids engages children through a colorful, playful menu placemat filled with inventive dishes like Build Your Own Fruit Crepes that allow kids to actually play with their food, providing a sense of discovery while imparting the value of healthy eating. The new kids’ menu features a vibrant array of healthful, tasty dishes such as Build Your Own Salmon Niçoise Salad that were created and tested by SuperChefs kids. More Than 50% of Parents Concerned about Healthy Food Options on the Road
Increasingly, guests are concerned not only for their own well-being but that of their children as well.
