World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at Wild Wadi Waterpark
Wild Wadi Waterpark once again participated in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson to support the importance of teaching people how to swim
XXX 2013, Dubai –On 18th June 2013 Wild Wadi Waterpark once again participated in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson. “The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson aims to teach millions of kids and adults around the globe that Swimming Lessons Save Lives”, says Chris Perry, General Manager of Wild Wadi Waterpark. “We are in full support of this initiative and driving the importance of teaching people how to swim, especially since we live next to the sea in weather that allows us to swim 365 days a year!”
The World Record attempt requires Wild Wadi to follow exactly the same 30 minute lesson plan as other facilities around the world. This lesson plan included practical safety tips as well as swimming instruction by qualified swimming instructors with a main focus on a general overview of water safety awareness messages, a review of entry hazards when entering into water, learn how to comfortably submerge face and hold breath underwater, teach how to float on your front and on your back and some stroke components.
About Wild Wadi Waterpark:
Wild Wadi Waterpark, part of the Jumeirah Group portfolio, was launched in 1999 and is one of the largest thematic water park outside of North America. Situated between sister properties Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah, Wild Wadi Waterpark is located on Jumeirah Beach Road, a leisurely half hour drive from Dubai International Airport.
In 2011, Wild Wadi Waterpark announced the addition of two new rides, Tantrum Alley and Burj Surj, to its existing collection of over 28 rides and attractions. 13 of the rides are inter-connected, allowing thrill seekers of all ages to experience one adrenaline rush after another without ever leaving the water. In 2012, Wild Wadi announced an exciting new tandem ride that replaces the iconic Jumeirah Sceirah. The two slides both reach 32m with a length of 120m. Now in its 14th year, Wild Wadi is Dubai’s favourite family destination offering over 30 rides and attractions for all ages.
Created by WS Atkins, the engineering and design consultancy firm behind Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Wild Wadi Waterpark is designed around a tale from Arabian folklore featuring Juha and his seafaring friend, Sinbad. The design and attention to detail, including characters to support the theme, led to a World Waterpark Association Industry Innovation Award for Outstanding Accomplishments in Design and Theming in its opening year.
