ZUMA CELEBRATES REGIONAL DIAGEO WORLD CLASS WIN WITH ‘POP-UP’ COCKTAIL AND BAR BITES PAIRING MENU
Zuma Abu Dhabi to introduce an exclusive bar menu for two weeks
Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE: 12 October 2015 – Zuma Abu Dhabi, the multi-award winning Japanese restaurant, lounge and bar is pleased to announce a special ‘pop-up’ cocktail and bar bites pairing menu for a limited two week period this month.
The menu celebrates the achievements of Zuma Abu Dhabi Bar Manager Mehmet Sur, who won the Diageo World Class Regional final in June and who subsequently attended the global final in Cape Town in September. Together with Jimmy Barrat, Bar Development Manager for the Middle East, each cocktail has been designed to not only reflect the skill and innovation required to make it to the top in today’s bartending profession, but also to match perfectly with the taste components of each of the paired dishes.
The Zuma team invites the capitals’ residents and visitors to join them in the bar from 18 – 31 October and enjoy the stylish selection of signature bar bites and handcrafted cocktails, to celebrate Mehmet’s success in this prestigious competition.
Exclusive Bar Menu with Pairings:
Spicy Veggie Gyoza & Kaze Sour
Traditional Japanese dumplings stuffed with Japanese spinach and roasted eggplant, cooked in miso
A gin based cocktail served with aperol, yuzu, grapefruit juice and agave nectar
The bitter and sour notes in the cocktail act as a cleansing balance to the spicy umami flavor of the gyoza.
Grilled Chicken Wings & Fizu Cloud
A bar favourite, at Zuma these are served with Yuzu Koshu, a Japanese citrus fruit, and chili pepper paste
A whisky based cocktail, served with natural apple juice, yuzu, vanilla honey water topped with asahi beer
The smoked charcoal flavor from the robata grilled chicken wings marries perfectly with the bourbon and beer flavor, with a light and refreshing fizz finish provided by the beer
Chawan Mushi & Chocolate Daiquiri
Traditional Japanese dessert served with exotic fruits
A rum based cocktail, served with lime juice and Mozart dark chocolate liqueur
The exotic, fruity yet creamy custard flavor of the dessert is complimented with the rich chocolate and citrus belnd of the daiquiri
