Carlson Rezidor’s Middle East Expansion Fuelled by New Recruits
Continued growth strategy complemented by seasoned industry talent
United Arab Emirates, Dubai: To fuel its robust expansion strategy for the Middle East region, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has today announced two key appointments -- Marc Descrozaille as Regional Director for UAE, Egypt and Jordan, and Shabana Beg as the Area Director of Revenue Optimisation for Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
With a number of new properties announced across MENA since the beginning of 2012 including Jeddah, Riyadh and Doha and the continued expansion across all brands in the group: Radisson Blu, Park Inn by Radisson and Hotel Missoni, Carlson Rezidor has been active in securing seasoned executives to enhance customer experience while growing revenues.
Now directing the operations of 16 properties, Marc Descrozaille has more than 15 years’ experience in the hospitality sector, with both European and Middle East postings. Improving quality and customer loyalty while increasing market share will be among his key objectives with Carlson Rezidor.
Shabana Beg brings to her new role extensive experience within international hotel chains in the USA and Middle East. Following roles in Canada, the east coast of the US and in Abu Dhabi, Shabana will now focus on maximizing sales, improving revenues, and enhancing reservation systems across the 37 operating properties in Carlson Rezidor’s Middle East and Sub Saharan Africa portfolio.
Marc and Shabana will both be based in Carlson Rezidor’s Middle East regional office in Dubai, reporting directly to Mark Willis, Area Vice President for the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
These appointments indicate a continued dedication to ‘Route 2015’ – a set of ambitious targets announced by Rezidor in late 2011 and designed to improve the group’s revenue margin. Rezidor’s plan will focus on several targeted areas, which combined are expected to push the margins by 6 to 8 percentage points, by 2015. In their new roles, Marc and Shabana are anticipated to facilitate further growth while improving the efficiencies of Carlson Rezidor’s existing properties in the region.
