Charles Saliba as General Manager
Charles Saliba, Has Joined Crowne Plaza Dubai – Deira as the new General Manager of the property.
Prior to this new appointment, Charles Saliba held the position of General Manager for the Crowne Plaza Sohar and brings with him 24 years of hospitality industry expertise.
Charles started his career, from his very first year at the university, in 1994 as a Food and Beverage service employee and moved to the Front Office department three years later. He became Front Office Manager in 1998 and held this position in different hotels including Accor Group. In 2003, he joined IHG as Sales Manager in Holiday Inn Olaya and has worked with the group ever since. He continued progressing in his career as he moved for his first role in the UAE to InterContinental Al Ain Resort as Director of Sales and Marketing in May 2009. He joined Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi in the same position in 2010 and was promoted as Resident Manager in January 2013. In October 2015 Charles took over his first time assignment as General Manager at Crowne Plaza Sohar, Oman.
Under his leadership in Crowne Plaza Sohar, the hotel has achieved remarkable successes among which the “Middle East Continental Award 2017” in food safety, achieving the highest scores since the opening of the hotel on IHG Brand Standards, SGS Food Safety, CSA Finance Audits, being #1 on TripAdvisor and being highly recommended on Holiday Check despite the opening of two international hotels in Sohar, receiving the IHG FrontRunner Award for Q3 2016 and most importantly regaining the 5 Star Classification for the hotel from Oman Ministry of Tourism.
Saliba was also recently nominated in the GM of the year category from the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2017.

Born in Lebanon, Saliba has multilingual skills as he speaks English, French, Spanish and Arabic fluently. During his free time he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two boys; splashing in the pool, playing piano and enjoying a culinary treat. He is also passionate about cycling and running.
