New Executive Chef for Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach
Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, Dubai is delighted to announce the appointment of Stefan Borchardt as Executive Chef.
Stefan brings over 20 years of experience in the international hospitality sector, with over 10 years specializing in the food service industry. He began his career in hospitality in the year 1990 in Germany at Braunschweig´s renowned Mövenpick Hotel where he worked as an apprentice, first on the hotel side and before becoming a Chef. Five years later, Stefan left his native Germany, embarking upon a culinary journey that would take him to various five-star properties around the world starting from Yangtze New World Hotel in the vibrant city of Shanghai, continuing in the Far East at Beijing’s Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, London, and back again to Germany where he joined The Ritz-Carlton team.
His passion for the culinary arts and the hotel industry, as well as his desire to reach the heights of his profession led Stefan to enroll in the prestigious Hotel Management School in Heidelberg, Germany. In 2003, he graduated as a state-certified Master Chef and Caterer and Hotelier.
Stefan’s journey took him to the Americas – more specifically to the exotic island paradise of Bermuda where he joined an international culinary team as Executive Sous Chef at the five-star resort Cambridge Beaches.
At the end of 2005, Stefan seized the opportunity to gain Middle Eastern experience in the vibrant city of Dubai - first at the Al Murooj Rotana Hotel & Suites, before returning to the Ritz-Carlton Company. Prior to the current role, Stefan joined Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay as Executive Chef at the Land of the Pharaohs. At this Red Sea resort, his remarkable leadership and vision not only led the culinary team to complete guest satisfaction, but his modern, multi-sensory approach to taste was featured in a variety publications around the globe written by prominent food and hospitality critics such as Heinz Horrmann from Germany.
Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach will benefit from Borchardt’s extensive international experience, his specialism in creativity and modern food presentation, his high volume as well as special events capability, and his relentless dedication to execution.
