ROSEWOOD CORNICHE APPOINTS INNOVATIVE NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF TO LEAD CULINARY TEAM
Jordanian Chef Ghandoor adds new flavor to Jeddah’s dining scene
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 9 November, 2014: Rosewood Corniche has announced the appointment of Amjad Yousef Al Ghandoor as its new Executive Chef, taking on responsibility for the entire culinary direction of the prestigious award-winning hotel.
A Jordanian national, Chef Ghandoor brings more than 15 years’ international culinary experience to his new position, having worked with high profile hotel chains across the world. Prior to joining Rosewood Corniche, he held a three year position as Executive Chef at the acclaimed Shaza Al Madinah Hotel in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
The Executive Chef will now manage the full food and beverage team of chefs operating in the restaurants of Jeddah’s number one hotel, including the renowned Japanese outlet Ginza I Chome, Chinese favourite Noodles, Soleil Café and the all-day dining venue Habsburg, in addition to managing the hotel’s in-room dining and exclusive on-site events.
Hans-Peter Leitzke, Managing Director of Rosewood Corniche believes the international experience Chef Ghandoor brings with him will provide a new flair in the kitchens of the hotel. Since beginning his culinary career in his native Jordan, Chef Ghandoor has displayed his talents in some of the finest luxury resorts and hotels across the world including the Shangri-la Chengdu in China as Sous Chef and other prominent Shangri-la properties across Indonesia, Hong Kong and India.
Ghandoor furthered his gastronomic ability with a three-year Chef de Cuisine position at the seven-star Mardan Palace in Antalya, Turkey. His posts throughout China, Malaysia and beyond have given him a wealth of experience across a vast array of cuisine including Asian, Arabic and International fare.
In his role at Rosewood Corniche, Chef Ghandoor will carefully work on the concepts and ingredient choices for the hotels respected restaurants menus, sourcing the best of local and international ingredients. He will also help put together special food events as well as oversee the popular Italian Food Festival which is set to return for its third year at the beginning of 2015.
