Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara Welcomes Two Thai Leaders to Lead Its Signature Restaurant: Mekong

Salalah, Oman 2025: Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara is pleased to announce the dual appointment of Ms. Raveevan Kahawan as Sous Chef and Ms. Supattana Phanwichit as Outlet Manager of the resort’s acclaimed Asian fusion dining venue, Mekong.
This exciting chapter marks a homecoming for Chef Raveevan, who previously served as Chef De Partie at Mekong and now returns to lead the kitchen with her distinct culinary style shaped by more than eight years of experience across prestigious hospitality destinations, including Niyama Private Island in the Maldives and Anantara Lawana Samui. A passionate champion of traditional Asian flavours, Chef Raveevan is known for creating dishes that are not only rich in taste but also beautifully presented, inspired by the diverse cuisines of the Mekong River region.
Joining her is Ms. Supattana Phanwichit, who steps into the role of Outlet Manager following a dynamic hospitality career across Thailand, the Maldives, and now Oman. With leadership roles at Anantara Maldives and St. Regis Bangkok among others, Supattana brings over 15 years of guest-focused experience and operational excellence to the front of house. Her strong service ethos, multilingual skills, and in-depth knowledge of hospitality standards such as HACCP and LQA make her an exceptional addition to the team.
Both women hail from Thailand and bring an authentic voice to Mekong’s pan-Asian story; a restaurant that draws on the rich tapestry of flavours from nations across the Mekong River Delta, particularly Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and China. Together, they aim to elevate the guest experience through innovative menus, refined service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Southeast Asia.
“We are proud to welcome both Chef Raveevan and Supattana back to the Anantara family,” said Andrea Orrú, General Manager of Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara. “Their combined passion, authenticity, and depth of experience will play a vital role in positioning Mekong as a leading culinary destination in the region.”
