Naturalist at KAAV Safari Lodge, Kabini

Location: Kabini, Karnataka
Reporting to: Lodge Manager

Are you passionate about wildlife, conservation, and crafting unforgettable nature experiences?

KAAV Safari Lodge, a premier eco-luxury retreat nestled on the edge of Nagarhole National Park in Kabini, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Naturalist to join our team.

Your Role

As part of our naturalist team, you'll be the bridge between the wild and our guests. You'll inspire our guests during safaris, interpret the forest, nurture biodiversity within the lodge grounds, and engage both guests and local communities in meaningful ways that support conservation and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead unforgettable experiences: Guided safaris, nature walks, birding, local excursions, and interactive presentations.
• Champion sustainability: Promote eco-friendly practices, inspire guests, and collaborate with the Forest Department and local conservation groups.
• Maintain lodge ecology: Monitor wildlife, manage flora and fauna in and around the lodge, and ensure responsible waste practices.
• Personalised guest interaction: Curate and tailor nature experiences to individual guest preferences while maintaining respectful boundaries.
• Community & staff engagement: Train staff and mentor junior naturalists; organise outreach programs promoting conservation awareness.

What We’re Looking For

• Deep knowledge of local flora, fauna, and conservation issues
• Strong communication and interpretive skills
• Ability to understand and adapt to guest motivation, moods, and preferences.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with strong team-building abilities
• Previous naturalist or eco-guide experience required
