Job Description
- Prepare a wide variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts, ensuring consistent quality and presentation
- Develop and test new recipes to expand our bakery offerings and keep up with current trends
- Manage daily production schedules and coordinate with other kitchen sections to meet customer demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Train and supervise junior staff members in baking techniques and procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal menus and special promotions
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients and finished products
- Assist in cost control measures by minimizing waste and optimizing ingredient usage
- Participate in menu planning and pricing discussions with the management team
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in pastry and bakery section
- Culinary degree or diploma in baking and pastry arts preferred
- Proven expertise in various baking techniques and production of a wide range of baked goods
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with current food safety certification
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency in product quality
- Proficiency in using and maintaining bakery equipment and tools
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative recipes and presentations
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary
- Basic math skills for recipe calculations and inventory management
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
- Passion for baking and commitment to delivering high-quality products
