What you'll do
We are looking for an experienced Director of Food & Beverage to join the team at SLS Barcelona. The Director of Food & Beverage will lead the overall strategy, execution, and performance of all F&B operations within SLS Barcelona, including multiple restaurants, destination bars, in-room dining, banqueting, and event spaces. This role requires a visionary leader with strong commercial acumen, an eye for design and detail, and the ability to create memorable, on-brand dining and nightlife experiences that position SLS Barcelona as one of the city's leading lifestyle destinations.
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Develop and implement the F&B business strategy aligned with the SLS brand DNA and hotel goals.
- Deliver revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction targets across all outlets.
- Maximize opportunities in local, regional, and international markets to position outlets as destination venues.
- Drive brand partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations in line with the SLS lifestyle positioning.
- Liaise with VP of F&B and Corporate F&B Carte Blanched team on brand standards, growing brand trends, and concept direction.
Operational Excellence- Oversee daily operations of all restaurants, bars, IRD, and event spaces.
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service and high-quality food & beverage standards.
- Implement robust SOPs, cost control, and labour management practices.
- Champion health, safety, and hygiene compliance.
- Work with Executive Committee members and keep them informed of Food and Beverage issues as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations and all other Food and Beverage related life/safety and other legal compliance in accordance with federal and local laws.
Guest Experience & Brand Alignment- Partner with culinary and bar teams to ensure menus are innovative, profitable, and aligned with market trends.
- Collaborate with Brand team & Ennismore Partnerships Studio to develop always-on and one-off activations, PR opportunities, and digital storytelling.
- Act as an ambassador for SLS Barcelona within the local community and global SLS network.
- Establish and enforce SLS specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Maintain a high-level path to achieving brand goals, such as 50 Best and Local awards
People Leadership & Culture- Build, lead, and inspire a multicultural team of managers, chefs, mixologists, and service professionals.
- Recruit top talent, foster career growth, and reduce turnover through engagement and development.
- Champion SLS's culture of boldness, inclusivity, and excellence.
Financial Management- Develop and manage annual F&B budgets (P&L, revenues, labour, COS).
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Drive efficiencies without compromising guest experience or brand positioning.
Qualifications
What we are looking for...- Minimum 8 years of progressive F&B leadership experience, with at least 3 years as Director of F&B (preferably in luxury or lifestyle hotels/resorts).
- Proven track record of launching or repositioning successful restaurant/bar concepts.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing large, multi-outlet operations.
- Deep understanding of Barcelona's culinary, nightlife, and hospitality landscape.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; Catalan is a plus.
- Dynamic, charismatic, and highly visible leader with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Passion for lifestyle luxury, innovation, and creating unforgettable guest experiences.

- Solid understanding of local legal compliance requirements.
