Job Description
As part of the Engineering department, the Handyman will be responsible for the general maintenance of the hotel. Specifically to control and maintain the hotel rooms, public areas, equipment and plant in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will possess:
- Ability to initiate contact and establish rapport easily with staff and guests
- Ability to work a rotating roster
- A willingness to meet the requirements of working in a luxury hotel
- Ability to handle tasks carefully and correctly
- Excellent attention to detail and be thorough and exact in details with a sense of urgency.
- A high energy level.
- Versatility in responding to guest requests and situations.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high volume work situations.
- Skills to be a good team player; contributing to and assisting co-workers without being asked.
- The aptitude and willingness to undertake further development.
- Computer literacy
- Ability to be an all-rounder with wide range of trade skills.
- Restricted electrical license (class D).- would be beneficial but not essential
- A commitment to undertake growth and development within the Sofitel brand
