Job Description

As Host with Fairmont Waterfront you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Your warm, personal attention provides a memorable first impression for guest of our ARC Restaurant and Lounge, making them feel welcome and valued.

What you will be doing:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly, engaging and proactive service
• Meet, greet and seat guests and maintain daily floor plans to suit forecasted guest and staffing levels
• Have an understanding of server, bartender and server assistant roles & provide support as required
• Have an understanding of shift-end reports and the POS system
• Maintain an extensive knowledge of menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods, beverage offerings and restaurant operations and assist servers and food porters as needed
• Follow outlet policies, procedures, service & safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Creative and passionate about food and customer service
• Previous service experience an asset
• Previous Point of Sale System experience an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, overtime shifts, split shifts and holidays
