Job Description
Position Summary:
The Hourly Housekeeping Manager plays a key leadership role within the Housekeeping Department at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness, efficiency, and service standards throughout guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The ideal candidate will lead by example and embody the Fairmont brand values of excellence, care, and attention to detail. This hands-on leader will coach, motivate, and guide room attendants and public area staff to consistently deliver exceptional luxury service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations during assigned shifts, ensuring guest rooms, corridors, and public areas meet luxury cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Assign and monitor daily tasks for Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Public Area Attendants.
- Conduct inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to Fairmont brand standards.
- Coordinate with Front Office and Engineering to address room status, maintenance needs, and guest requests in a timely manner.
- Respond promptly to guest concerns and ensure service recovery is handled with care and professionalism.
- Team Development & Coaching
- Lead by example by modeling service excellence and a strong work ethic.
- Provide coaching, recognition, and real-time feedback to colleagues.
- Support new hire onboarding and on-the-job training, ensuring understanding of safety, cleanliness, and service standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that supports collaboration and colleague success.
- Administrative & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation protocols.
- Track attendance, productivity, and report any performance concerns to senior leadership.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies during shift and assist in ordering processes as needed.
- Prepare shift reports and communicate key information to the next shift and management team.
Qualifications
Qualifications:- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment without the need for employer sponsorship.
- Between 1-2 years of progressive leadership experience in housekeeping or front desk preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to inspect work and ensure standards are met.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Flexible with schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Proficient in English; bilingual abilities are an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and hotel housekeeping systems preferred.

Physical Requirements:- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to navigate stairwells and service areas as required.
What We Offer:- Bases salary of $65,000 - $70,000 (based on experience), this is a non-exempt role and is eligible for overtime pay.
