Job Description
Ensure the smooth and secure operation of the hotel overnight by fulfilling Manager-on-Duty responsibilities, including maintaining the safety and security of the building, responding promptly to emergencies, and addressing guest concerns in line with hotel guidelines. In addition, assist guests with queries, deliver food and beverage service, and maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the property throughout the night.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a luxury or premium hotel preferred
- Opera ( or other PMS system ) knowledge preferred
- Managers License/ First Aid/ Food Safety Certification advantageous
- We'd like someone with an eye for detail, driven to achieving the highest service standards
- We'll need you to be self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- You'll need to be friendly and engaging, with an ability to communicate effectively.
- Immaculate grooming and personal presentation
- Valid driver's license

Detailed duties - As Manager on duty be responsible for effectively supervising the night portering team
- Effective supervision of late guest arrivals and early departures ensuring that room allocations and check in/check out processes follow set procedures and are customer focused.
- Totally conversant PMS and balance procedures. Run reports and draw up statistical information as required by finance policies and procedures and as requested by the Front Office
Manager. - Complete computer system backups and save in accordance with finance policies and procedures.
- Supervision of night lobby services including car parking and portering, ensuring guest arrivals and departures are as efficient as possible.
- Be aware of room availability and sensitively manager over-booking situations where late night "relocation" is required.
- Ensure telephones are answered promptly and professionally following service procedures
- Ensure the cleanliness/neatness of the back of house areas
- Public areas are cleaned, including lobby vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of public bathrooms, bedroom corridors. All guest areas are checked and left immaculate
- Hand Towels and Milk prepared for next day arrivals
- Room service orders are answered, prepared and cooked as needed from the night menu. Assistance with delivering to guest rooms.
- Assistance with any guest luggage, delivering to rooms.
- Assistance with Valet, parking guest cars and bringing up on request. Ensuring car park is checked nightly for car registrations in house and parking charges applied.
- Fully aware of the action to be taken and ensure the safety of guests and staff in the event of an emergency such as fire, armed hold up or bomb threat in accordance with procedures laid down in emergency policies and procedures
- Report immediately to the Front Office Manager or RDM unusual occurrences or security issues, ensure correct documentation has been completed
- Ensure maintenance requests are completed and forwarded to AM shift Front Office Duty Manager. Call Chief Engineer in emergencies.
- Adherence to Emergency Communication procedures ensuring that enquiries from the media are only responded to by the nominated spokesperson
- Strive to implement the Accor Vision and demonstrate active use of Accor Values.
- Any other duties assigned by your manager.
$29.97 per hour / Full time 30 hours per week night shifts including weekends and public holidays.
