Job Description
- Provision of painting services as required to the highest quality standard.
- Liaise with individual departments and the Assistant Chief Engineer in relation to work requirements.
- Plan and prioritize jobs to ensure deadlines are met and emergencies are handled appropriately.
- Provide back-up support in various areas to replace absent employees when required.
- Work in harmony with all other Hotel Staff.
- Attend training programs as required.
- Completion of daily painting maintenance and repairs ie. as reported from guest rooms, individual Departments and Duty Managers.
- Alterations throughout the Hotel/Resort complex.
- Glazing ie. Replacing broken windowpanes.
- Tiling ie. Re-grouting shower recesses etc.
- Repair and installation of internal and external fittings as required eg. sliding doors, fly screens, tiling, drawers, cupboard doors, door locks, curtain rods etc.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by hotel departments to ensure optimal functionality.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize service disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while carrying out maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in painting, tiling, glazing, and general maintenance work, preferably in a hospitality or facilities environment.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, and use of relevant tools and materials.
- Competency in general repair and installation tasks, including sliding doors, fly screens, curtain rods, and basic carpentry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor technical and maintenance issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations and commitment to safe work practices.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with hotel departments and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to provide support across various maintenance functions and adapt to changing priorities.
- Trade qualification or relevant certification in painting, building maintenance, or a related field (preferred).
