Job Description
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Public Area Supervisor to join our team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall presentation of all public areas within our hotel, creating a welcoming environment for our guests.
- Oversee and coordinate the cleaning and maintenance of all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, lifts, and recreational facilities
- Conduct regular inspections of public areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards and hotel policies
- Train and mentor public area attendants, providing guidance on proper cleaning techniques and guest interaction
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times
- Collaborate with other departments to address any maintenance issues or special cleaning requirements
- Participate in daily briefings and department meetings to stay informed of hotel events and guest needs
- Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns related to public areas
- Implement and maintain health and safety protocols in all public spaces
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and incident reports
- Assist in developing and improving standard operating procedures for public area maintenance
- Support the Executive Housekeeper in achieving departmental goals and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in hotel management or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in a supervisory capacity within a luxury high volume hotel or resort housekeeping environment
- Previous pre-opening experience advantageous
- Proven ability to train and coach team members effectively
- Strong organisational, supervisory, and communication skills
- Meticulous eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Experience with Hotel Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera) is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, accurate decisions
- Physical stamina to perform regular inspections and occasional hands-on tasks
- In-depth knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment
- Familiarity with local health and safety regulations
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service orientation with a professional and courteous demeanour
- Fluency in English (verbal & written) is essential; knowledge of Vietnamese or other languages is advantageous
