Job Description
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu concepts, focusing on both international and local Indonesian cuisines
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Manage inventory, control costs, and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized kitchen
- Assist in menu engineering and pricing strategies to optimize profitability
- Participate in culinary events and promotions to enhance the restaurant's reputation
- Step in for the Executive Chef when necessary, maintaining seamless kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in high-end restaurants or hotels
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role
- Strong expertise in international cuisine, with knowledge of Indonesian culinary traditions a plus
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to build and inspire a cohesive kitchen team
- Keen eye for detail in food presentation, quality, and safety
- Proficiency in kitchen management, including cost control, inventory management, and menu engineering
- Food safety certification and thorough understanding of health and safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is advantageous
- Proficiency in kitchen management software
- Passion for culinary innovation and storytelling through food
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, effective decisions
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
