The Assistant Convention Services Floor Manager supports the successful execution of meetings and events by ensuring all spaces are set to client specifications and maintained at the highest quality. This hands-on leadership role oversees event setups, maintains operational standards, and helps guide a team of stewards and setup staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-driven, and capable of coordinating multiple departments to deliver exceptional client experiences.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Client Experience & Operations

• Assist the Manager in exceeding client expectations across all meeting rooms and promenade spaces.
• Responds promptly and professionally to client requests or concerns.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate hotel and guest expectations before setups.
• Oversee complex room setups to ensure seamless transition between events.
• Maintain consistent quality throughout banquet events, from setup to breakdown.
• Liaise with the CS team post-function to ensure the room is reset according to Daily Detail Report (DDR) specifications.
• Review Event Orders (EOs)/diagrams/DDRs and oversee VIP function room preparations to exacting standards.

• Assist with team scheduling and the delegation of daily tasks.
• Coach and counsel team members in line with Hyatt service procedures.
• Conduct or ensure timely completion of training and evaluations.
• Motivate, mentor, and support team members; resolve challenges that arise on the floor in a professional manner.
• Oversee function room setups and breakdowns, ensuring adherence to hotel and client standards.
• Coordinate efforts with decorators, caterers, AV, custodial, and banquet staff.

• Inspect and ensure meeting spaces meet cleanliness, accurate setup, equipment functionality, and guest specifications.
• Supervise placement of amenities: linens, glassware, pens/pads, bottled water, VIP coasters, etc.
• Monitor environmental elements such as temperature, lighting, and overall room presentation before and during events.
• Use approved products to ensure cleanliness of walls, windows, mirrors, and carpets.
• Manage special requests through the ECA app or client liaison.

• Resume required to be considered.
• 2+ years of progressive hotel or banquet/CS experience, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
• Prior experience as an Event Services Supervisor or Assistant Event Services Manager.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams with varying skill sets and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Fluency in Spanish is a strong asset.
• Physically agile; ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift moderate weight.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with guests and team members of all backgrounds.
• Full schedule flexibility, including AM & PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
