As a Cook 1, you'll play a critical role in delivering high-quality, thoughtfully prepared food in a fast-paced, professional kitchen. This advanced-level cook position requires strong culinary skills and experience in a high-volume setting. You'll support the culinary leadership team by assisting with prep, production, and execution of breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service-always prioritizing food safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Cook 1 colleagues must be self-directed, organized, and capable of working all stations within the kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates ready to take the next step in their culinary career.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and execute high-quality dishes according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation expectations
• Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen in accordance with health codes and Hyatt standards
• Support other cooks and kitchen team members as needed
• Communicate clearly with culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service
• Assist in training junior kitchen staff or temporary seasonal cooks
Qualifications
• Ability to work all stations in a professional kitchen
• Food Handlers Certification (or ability to obtain) required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
