Cheyenne Mountain Resort opened in 1985 and sits on 25 acres of land. The 4-Star Full Service property is nestled in the lush greens of Southern Colorado Springs and oversees impressive mountain views, along with exciting activities like golf, swimming, and tennis. These allow for the unique experience that you can only get at this resort.
Hourly Rate: This position starts at $16.00, commensurate with experience.
Position Overview: The Houseperson is responsible for responding to the needs of housekeepers, management, front desk, dispatch and guest service calls.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Delivers linens and other supplies to room attendants and stock closets on assigned floors.
- Maintains complete and effective ongoing stocking of all linen closets with the exception of linens and terries unless otherwise assigned.
- Keeps van/houseman vehicles stocked and orderly at all times.
- Reports any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken windowpanes, missing nuts or screws, etc.).
- Responsible for delivery of requested guest items.
- Receives and stores incoming freight accurately and promptly.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas.
- Clean other designated areas such as fixtures, vending areas, and storage areas for assigned floors.
- Provides prompt response to all service calls, including any applicable guest, front desk or housekeeping request as needed.
- Maintains effective organization, layout, cleanliness, security, upkeep and maintenance of all storage closets and facilities.
- Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied spaces. Absolute respect for guest property should always be exercised.
- Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
- Keeps accurate and legible records of all services.
- Provides accurate key control and effective security for all keys, buildings and vehicles.
- Helps maintain a clean and safe working environment in the housekeeping department.
- Communicates all pertinent information to the housekeeping team.
- Be able to utilize the radio system as well as the HotSOS application to accept requests input by other departments.
- Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
Qualifications - Prior hospitality or houseperson experience preferred
- One year of customer service experience preferred
- Authorized to work inthe United States
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Must have basic knowledge of chemicals and their uses
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure
- Ability to resolve problems/conflicts and interact well with guests and colleagues
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
- Must be able to walk, climb into and out of and operate a vehicle frequently
- Must be able to climb stairs on a regular basis
- Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 15 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently; kneel or crawl occasionally; infrequently climb a ladder
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements, pushing and pulling and simple grasping frequently; squeezing, overhead reaching & fine manipulation occasionally
