Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and guest service-oriented Night Manager to join our team.
Salary range: $69,000 - $71,000/year
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manage all Front Office Colleagues on the overnight shift and effectively coach, train, organize and motivate as required.
• Work in conjunction with Colleagues and maintain hands-on involvement in all aspects of the overnight operation, assist where the need is greatest and as required.
• Manage and maintain a secure hotel environment.
• Be fully versed with statutory, fire, legal, health and safety procedures and take control in emergencies.
• Ensure compliance to all hotel policies, standards and core practices.
• Responsible for the financial aspects of the Front Office and perform nightly audits and oversee the Accounts Receivables as well as prepare daily credit limit and cash reports.
• Ensure that all requested reports are completed and submitted punctually and accurately.
• Balance Front Office credit cards and ascertain proper settlement.
• Engage in up-sell and walk-in strategies at the Front Desk.
• Ensure a continuous emphasis and focus on service standards, particularly aligned with FORBES Travel Guide and AAA rating systems.
• Handle guest complaints and performs Duty Manager responsibilities.
• Work closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage & all other departments and outside contractors during the overnight shift.
• Be present at the Reception/Front Desk as required.
• Maintain a high level of productivity & cost efficiency within the department.
• Knowledgeable with Front Office Procedures and ensure that all accounting procedures and policies are followed.
• Consistently identify opportunities to improve service standards and Overall Service Experience (OSE) scores for the department and the Hotel.
• Review guest profiles and ensure special requests are highlighted to all relevant departments.
• Assume other ad-hoc duties as may be assigned

Qualifications
• Previous education or certificate in Hospitality Management and 2 - 3 years of previous experience in a similar capacity within another luxury hotel brand is preferred.
• Technically savvy with high attention to detail.
• Motivational management style with a genuine interest in service excellence.
• Must possess a polished and professional presentation.
• Outstanding guest services skills, sophisticated verbal & written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Possession of Food Safe Level 1 and Serving It Right Certificates is required.
• Possession of BC Class 5 Driver's License an asset.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience with Opera property management software and proficiency in Microsoft Window applications an asset.
