Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is seeking a professional, courteous, and service-oriented PBX Agent to join our Guest Services team. As a PBX Agent, you will be the first point of contact for all inbound calls to the hotel, playing a key role in providing warm, efficient, and personalized service to our guests and colleagues. This position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering seamless guest experiences behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities

• Operate the hotel's multi-line telephone system, answering all internal and external calls promptly and professionally.
• Direct calls to appropriate departments or guest rooms while adhering to confidentiality and service standards.
• Respond to guest requests and inquiries, logging and dispatching service requests to appropriate teams (e.g., housekeeping, engineering, room service).
• Monitor hotel emergency systems, including fire alarms and elevator alarms, and follow established safety and communication protocols during emergencies.
• Assist with wake-up calls, voicemail messages, and special communication requests as needed.
• Provide accurate hotel information, directions, and assistance with transportation and local recommendations.
• Support coordination between front office, housekeeping, engineering, and other operational departments through effective communication.
• Maintain logs of guest requests, incidents, and daily activities as directed by management.

Wage information The hourly wage for this position is $26.00

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years previous Front Desk Agent, customer service or general hospitality experience is required
• PBX or call center experience is preferred.
• Clear and professional phone communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks with accuracy.
• Strong computer literacy and familiarity with hotel systems (Opera, HotSOS, or similar) preferred.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts if needed.
