Equipment Room is looking for a Door Host who will exceed guest expectations in a multitude of tasks, including: welcome patrons, seat them at tables or in the lounge, and help to ensure the quality of the facility and service while creating a warm, engaging, and exciting social scene.

Equipment Room, the Bunkhouse private basement hideaway - in the old equipment room beneath the Hotel Magdalena on Music Lane - is an intimate space that houses one of Austin's most special record collections played on custom vintage hi-fi equipment. Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred
• Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
• Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System)

• Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns, inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measure when necessary
• Provide guests with menus
• Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas
• Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs
• Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
• Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and to respond to complaints
• Receive and record patrons' dining reservations
• Maintain contact with Kitchen staff, management, Serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed
• Inform patrons of establishment specialties and features
• Direct patrons to waiting areas such as lounges
• Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages (if applicable)
• Prepare cash receipts after establishments close
• Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service
• Assist in training other Hosts and Hostesses
• Attend relevant meetings
