The Security Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the safety and security of both The Seabird Resort and Mission Pacific Beach Resort. This person will respond to guest and employee emergencies, complete incident reports, supervise and train the security staff. The Security Assistant Manager will also be responsible to assist in development, implementation, monitoring and evaluating the hotel's safety and security procedures, including fire safety, employee and asset protection.
The salary range for this position is $68,640.00 - $79,400.00. This is the pay range for this position that The Seabird Resort reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Responsibilities:
• The Assistant Manager of Security is responsible for assisting the Director of Operations in overseeing the hotel's security operations.
• This position requires a strong commitment to guest safety and security, as well as the ability to lead and motivate a team of security officers.
Security Operations:
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security policies and procedures.
• Oversee the daily operations of the security team and third party including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Conduct regular security audits and inspections to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor surveillance systems and respond promptly to security incidents and alarms.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and suspicious activity, and prepare detailed reports.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and other external stakeholders.
Guest Safety and Security:
• Ensure the safety and security of all guests, employees, and hotel property.
• Respond to guest inquiries and complaints related to security matters.
• Conduct security awareness training for hotel staff.
• Implement emergency response procedures and coordinate evacuation drills.
Team Leadership:
• Recruit, hire, and train security officers.
• Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to security team members.
• Foster a positive and supportive work environment.
• Address disciplinary issues and resolve conflicts within the team.
Physical Demands:
• Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to stand for long hours at a time and to work in confined spaces as necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk and stand for long hours and comfortable working with all heights. Must be able to climb ladders, etc.

Qualifications
• Proven experience in security management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of security systems, procedures, and regulations.
• Valid security guard license or certification (as required by local regulations).
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, camera systems, keys systems, lost and found systems.
• Qualified in first aide and equipment.
• Well-developed report writing and investigation skills.
• Ability to de-escalate situations with colleagues or guests as needed.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Well-developed Computer Skills particularly in the use of MS Office and email.
• 2-4 years work experience as Security Supervisoror team leader in a hotel or large commercial complex.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Exceptional time management, detail and organizational skills.
• Must be able to manage a team and coach appropriately.
