The Role
Reporting to the Director of Design & Planning, Renovations, the Design & Planning Senior Manager, Renovations plays a key role in executing renovation design and execution strategies across Hyatt's portfolio of full-service Classics and Luxury hotel brands throughout the Americas. This position supports the successful delivery of renovation projects by guiding owners and their consultants in applying brand standards, technical design guidelines, and the execution of renovation planning processes while considering existing property conditions.
As a member of the multi-skilled Design Services team, the Design & Planning Senior Manager provides brand advisory services for renovation project execution with a strong focus on brand alignment, guest experience, and operational functionality. This role manages renovation design phases, including scope development and design milestones from concept through completion, coordinates with consultants and internal stakeholders, and supports activation and opening efforts as well as construction inspections. Additionally, this position supports CapEx planning and intelligent prioritization and phasing of work at properties to best enhance guest experience, with a focus on alignment with Hyatt's technical standards by delivering thoughtful, brand-led design solutions. With a client-first, purpose-driven approach, this position upholds design excellence and continuity across a diverse and evolving portfolio.
• Renovation Project Oversight
o Supervise multiple, concurrent renovation projects across Hyatt's full-service portfolio, managing all aspects from early planning through execution, informed by guest and performance data from each hotel.
o Provide design direction, comments, and guidance on project management while maintaining alignment with brand standards and client goals.
o Oversee coordination with consultants, internal stakeholders, and ownership groups to ensure timely execution and design integrity.
o Review and present project-specific renovation design solutions to department leaders to secure alignment and approvals.
o Conduct milestone design reviews and provide approvals and comments in line with established process and contractual deliverables.
• Brand Protection & Alignment
o Guide design consultant teams through all design phases and advise on compliance with brand goals and standards.
o Review drawings, finish selections, and FF&E specifications for alignment with brand goals and standards in support of guest experience expectations.
o Execute and operationalize brand concepts with regional and local interpretation, ensuring thoughtful, context-specific design implementation
• Stakeholder & Consultant Collaboration
o Interface with owners, developers, design professionals, contractors, and public agencies in a collaborative, team-focused manner.
o Lead cross-functional coordination with internal Operations and Development teams to incorporate feedback and facilitate brand-aligned solutions.
o Support feasibility reviews, design assessments, and renovation scope development, including early planning documents
• CapEx Planning & Project Support
o Contribute to CapEx renovation planning and review process, data tracking, and project reporting to ensure planned projects meet brand quality standards and timelines.
o Monitor and support completion of CapEx renovation projects according to the established renovation oversight process.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
•5 years minimum in a design field with strong familiarity with all phases of the design and development process
• Client-facing experience in hospitality or high-end residential design
Experience Preferred:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in an interior design or architectural field.
•Knowledge of hospitality design principles, architectural drawings, and FF&E/OS&E specifications
•Ability to collaborate with owners and consultants
•Clear communication and presentation skills
•Collaborative mindset
•Strong organizational skills and detail orientation

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $124,000. This position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
