Position Overview
The Spa Experience Coordinator is the welcoming heartbeat of Spa Alila. This role blends intuitive guest service with excellent organizational skills to support a restorative and meaningful spa journey.

You'll be responsible for scheduling a wide range of wellness offerings, from massages and facials to guided meditations, reiki, and seasonal wellbeing programs. You'll also maintain the spa facility, ensuring locker areas, lounges, and guest amenities remain clean, stocked, and serene throughout the day. This position partners closely with departments across the resort to ensure a seamless and elevated guest experience from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Arrival & Guest Journey
• Answer spa and wellness inquiries with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
• Book treatments and wellbeing experiences tailored to guest preferences
• Provide confirmations and pre-arrival information that enhance anticipation
• Process guest intake forms and payment information with care and confidentiality

Onsite Guest Engagement
• Greet each guest with grace and grounded hospitality
• Recommend treatments, enhancements, wellness offerings, or retail items based on individual needs
• Ensure each guest feels relaxed, supported, and valued throughout their spa journey
• Maintain ambiance and cleanliness in all spa and relaxation areas

Facility & Operations Support
• Monitor and refresh locker rooms, showers, guest amenities, and lounge areas throughout the day
• Ensure treatment rooms and common areas are stocked, clean, and spa-ready
• Process charges accurately, including room folios, credit cards, and cash
• Track and apply commissionable retail sales

Collaboration & Communication
• Support daily scheduling and coordination for spa and wellness practitioners
• Partner with Housekeeping, Guest Services, Culinary, and other departments to ensure a cohesive luxury experience
• Communicate effectively with internal teams to resolve guest needs quickly and gracefully

Brand Standards & Stewardship
• Deliver the calm, curated service of a Forbes Four-Star, MICHELIN-awarded resort
• Uphold the Alila approach to sustainability and thoughtful hospitality
• Reflect the spirit of Big Sur through genuine, personal connection

Schedule & Compensation
• Full-Time, with availability required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Typical shift hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm
• Base Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $20.00
• Weekly Service Charge: $300 - $500, based on business levels and eligibility
• Retail Commission: 10% on product sales

Projected Total Hourly Earnings: $28.00 - $35.00, including base pay, service charge, and commission

Qualifications
Qualifications
• Previous spa, wellness, or luxury hospitality experience preferred
• Highly effective communicator-clear, professional, and compassionate in both written and verbal exchanges
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
• Very comfortable using technology (appointment systems, POS platforms, digital communication tools)
• Calm, polished demeanor with a focus on guest care
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and changing business needs

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours)
• Ability to walk efficiently across a large resort property, including uneven terrain, stairs, and various indoor/outdoor environments
• Ability to lift, carry, or transport items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in spa treatment areas and guest-facing resort spaces in various weather conditions
