Description
Urchin Restaurant, part of the prestigious Hyatt Regency Cape Town, is looking for a dedicated and reliable Steward to join our back-of-house team.
As a Steward, you'll be an essential part of our operation - ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, maintaining impeccable cleanliness, and supporting our chefs in delivering a world-class dining experience.
Requirements:
• Previous stewarding or kitchen cleaning experience preferred (training can be provided)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-end restaurant environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards
• Willingness to follow safety and sanitation procedures
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
• Operate dishwashing machines and handle cleaning chemicals safely
• Assist chefs with basic kitchen prep when required
• Sort and dispose of waste in accordance with hotel procedures
