JOB SUMMARY
Manages innovative business process improvements resulting in measurable financial and/or customer loyalty gains by applying the Six Sigma methodology in his/her assigned area of responsibility (total hotel).Engages in specialized training in the methodology and tools used to set and accomplish specific goals for a project, Leads Project Team by mobilizing the team members and others in the organization to accomplish the aggressive goals specified in its Project Charter. Manages multiple projects and their related resouces each year. Partners with others to overcome barriers, and coaches/trains team members in the methodology used to set and accomplish goals for a project. Serves as the Sustainability Specialist during projects and will be the subject expert to further improve business results at the conclusion of such project.

Education and Experience
• 4-year bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality or related field.
Preferred
• Advanced degree.
• Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification.

• Serves as the Sustainability Specialist during projects and will be the subject expert to further improve business results at the conclusion of such project.
• Partners with the GM and Executive Committee to refine and update the Project Team Charters including problem statements, goals (financial, customer, process), project scope, staffing Team Members (usually assigned part-time to the team), and scheduling.
• Plays primary role in selecting Team Members.
• Engages in specialized training in the methodology and tools used to set and accomplish specific goals for a project,
• Leads Project Team by mobilizing the team members and others in the organization to accomplish the aggressive goals specified in its Project Charter.
• Accomplishes the Project Team's goals by applying the DMAIC methodology (including Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) and tools, including measurement and statistical analysis tools, and process improvement techniques.
• Plans and schedules Project Team Member assignments and meetings; designs and facilitates productive team meetings; and manages project activities outside of team meetings.
• Maintains project on schedule, keeps GM and Executive Committee informed of progress and problems, and attempts to break down barriers to success of the project.
• Leads Project Teams and allocates resources such as own time and that of team members to highest priorities (uses time wisely).
• Creates motivated and high-involvement Project Teams by using active listening skills, stimulating innovation, and providing clear direction and performance rewards/ recognition.
• Coaches and trains Team Members in using DMAIC and team skills.
• Manages multiple projects and their related resources each year.
• Partners with others to overcome barriers, and coaches/trains team members in the methodology used to set and accomplish goals for a project.
• Serves as the voice of the Project Team with Executive Committee and as the point of contact between their Team and rest of the property. Acts as Six Sigma "zealot," enthusiastically spreading knowledge about the methods and project successes.
• Assures that the approved project improvements are successfully implemented before Project Team disbands.
• Applies performance management and review practices to Project Team Members and contributes to their regular performance evaluation.
• Provides training to leaders on continuous improvement methodology and formal problem solving techniques, enabling departments to drive better business results as measured by the balance score card.
The salary range for this position is $86,000 to $119,000 annually. Marriott offers a bonus program, comprehensive health care benefits, 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match, employee stock purchase plan at 15% discount, accrued paid time off (including sick leave where applicable), life insurance, group disability insurance, travel discounts, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, health savings account (except for positions based out of or performed in Hawaii), flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, pre-tax commuter benefits, other life and work wellness benefits, and may include other incentives such as stock awards and deferred compensation plans.
