JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Social Media is responsible for leading social media strategy and execution to enhance Marriott Bonvoy's presence and engagement across multiple platforms globally. This role involves managing campaigns, budgets and collaborating with multiple internal teams to support Marriott Bonvoy's marketing and loyalty objectives. This role is responsible for managing social media campaigns, content creation/calendar, influencer partnerships, budget oversight to maximize organic and paid media impact and performance tracking. The Director, Social Media requires close collaboration with brand, loyalty, PR, creative agencies, and global /continent teams to ensure alignment with broader marketing goals and an integrated/consistent social media approach - including playbooks and style guides.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related major
• Eight or more years' relevant professional experience in marketing or a related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance

• Ten or more years of relevant professional experience in marketing or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance.
• Strong collaboration skills and cross-functional team leadership experience

Core Work Activities
Strategy & Performance
• Lead social media strategy and execution.
• Manage and execute social media campaigns and content for Marriott Bonvoy and related hotel brands.
• Lead development of a strategically connected social media editorial calendar across major platforms (TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
• Guide the direction of continent-led and stakeholder-led content.
• Keep rollout plans and budgets updated using company tools.
Collaboration & Partnerships
• Lead the global content calendar by partnering with all contributors (global, continent, agency) to ensure content calendar supports Marriott Bonvoy social ambition and is calibrated with other brands to maximize collective reach and impact.
• Partner with the Global Marketing Team and other teams (boutiques, loyalty, etc.) on influencer and social content as part of holistic IMC plans - including brief development, creative concepting, production and postproduction.
• Develop strong relationships with Marriott subject matter experts and channel leaders, agencies, media and distribution partners to maximize opportunities and ensure high-quality, on-strategy creative
• Partner with Director of Social Media Data Insights on dashboard creation, KPI definition and alignment, and regularly report out performance and learnings to key stakeholders and executive team.
Campaign & Content Management
• Lead campaign development or support IMCs as the SME on social/influencer content development.
• Drive global influencer partnerships, including agency and talent management.
• Lead the editorial calendar, orchestration and alignment process.
• Oversee social media monitoring, advertising, promotions, and activations.
• Ensure brand voice and content quality for Marriott Bonvoy and hotel brands.
The salary range for this position is $125,600 to $171,100 annually.
