Job Title: Hostess
Department: Food & Beverage / Front of House
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Food & Beverage Manager

Position Overview:
The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere and ensuring an exceptional dining experience from arrival to departure. This role requires excellent communication skills, professional presentation, and the ability to manage reservations and seating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival.

Escort guests to their tables and present menus.

Manage reservations and waitlists using the reservation system.

Provide accurate wait-time estimates during busy periods.

Communicate seating preferences and special requests to servers and management.

Ensure the entrance and reception area are clean, tidy, and inviting at all times.

Handle guest inquiries politely and efficiently, both in person and over the phone.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menu items, specials, and promotions.

Coordinate with serving staff to optimize seating flow and guest satisfaction.

Address and resolve guest concerns promptly, escalating when necessary.

Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality training preferred).

Previous hostess or front-of-house experience in hospitality is an advantage.

Basic computer skills; experience with reservation systems is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Comfortable walking and moving around the venue frequently.

Work Environment:

Requires working shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Fast-paced hospitality setting.
