JOB SUMMARY The Director, citizenM Brand Experience serves as the business and brand leader focused on supporting the citizenM brand during and post-integration. The ideal candidate leads efforts in defining the strategy and guest experience for cross brand and cross discipline efforts in a way that creates maximum profitability. They will be instrumental to the success of this uniquely disruptive brand, helping to drive performance KPIs and support its growth around the world. This leader will be laser-focused on maintaining the "secret sauce" (brand strategies, products, programs, and experiences) of citizenM, while making sure the brand can leverage all the programs, system, and scale that Marriott has to offer. The position will organize, track, and manage the various brand initiatives, updates and communications efforts. The Director will partner closely with a wide range of leaders within and outside of the global lodging product organization, and across HQ and continents. It requires strong relationship development and management as they will partner with Global Design, Global Operations, Global Standards, Continent Brand Leaders, Global Development Leaders, and other key partners within the Customer Group to monitor and track performance and brand health, establish the brand strategy and multi-year planning, and manage the brand performance (as measured by key consumer metrics). Within this framework, the role is a key contributor toward the direction and growth of the broader lifestyle select brand portfolio.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Education and Experience 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major AND 10+or more years' experience in the hospitality industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
- OR 12+ years of relevant professional experience in related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance Experience managing and defining transformational strategies for business units Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Stakeholder Management: Builds strong relationships with continent teams and "Remain Co" team to ensure the brand culture comes to life on property, driving pull-through of the brand promise Work cross-functionally to develop and continually evolve the brand strategy and ensure all aspects of the business (Development, Revenue Management, Sales, Operations, Marketing) are executing against that strategy accordingly Partner closely with Development, Sales, and Global Design to grow the business, frequently participating in meetings to evaluate opportunities and articulate the product overview and brand vision
- Brand Strategy, Performance Management and Global Priorities: Partner with MVP to build out global product and portfolio strategy. Partner with Disciplines, Brand, and Continent Leaders to ensure ongoing alignment and execution against business priorities. Ensure strong measurement and performance monitoring of the business and work streams relevant to business priorities to ensure effectiveness. This includes ownership for the development and management of the global brand and continent performance scorecard and may also include reviewing reports and financial statements to determine operations' performance against budget. Educate and communicate on brand strategy, framework, positioning, voice and strategic pillars, competitive environment. Help develop and drive execution of communication strategies associated with launching tactics/deliverables in support of the brand strategies and stated performance goals. Define brand performance metrics and recommend performance targets. Support brand strategic planning process, brand initiative planning and tracking, and brand property initiative planning and execution.
- Cross-Brand and Segment Wide Leadership: Partner with continent brand leaders and MVP Category leader to align on which cross- brand efforts to pull through into citizenM (i.e. F&B foundational work, Learning and Development, global design review process, GM onboarding platform, credit card acquisition and benefit model, ITR and guest experience rebuild in conjunction with global quality). Partner with Discipline, Brand, and Continent Leaders to align and execute against the respective goals of each initiative. For each initiative or workstream, ensure the development of a comprehensive and compelling strategy, create project plans, guide and engage respective project teams throughout the project from kick off to implementation. Ensure strong measurement and performance monitoring of each initiative or workstream to ensure effectiveness
The pay range for this position is $60.38 to $78.13 per hour.
