Job Description For Deck Supervisor (Bar Department) for Silversea Cruises
Position Description:
We are currently searching for a Deck Supervisor ( Bar Team) to join Silversea Cruises and our Award Winning Team.
Position Summary
Responsible to deliver high quality, efficient, individualized and technically excellent beverage and deck service in accordance with Company Policies and strictly upholding any Public Health standards and towards a goal of achieving total guest satisfaction.
Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Bar Manager.
Subordinates - Deck Stewards.
Responsibilities
Proactively approaches guests and provides courteous, professional and personalized deck service.
Responsible together with the Deck Stewards for the daily set up and storage of deck chairs.Cleans and straightens deck chairs.Keeps the pool area clean and neat by removing glasses and rubbish.Supervises the Deck Stewards to ensure a clean and tidy outer deck area.Executes the set up of tables on the Pool Deck as required.Stores deck furniture when required.Maintains a supply of clean towels in the pool areas (removing any soiled towels and delivering to the laundry - ensuring an adequate supply of fresh towels are available).Displays a good knowledge of the food and beverages served on deck.Responsible for the Integrated Pest Management system in the pool area.Assists in providing a quality bar service around the pool area, replenishing drinks as required.Responsible for pier beverage service when the ship is at anchor in collaboration with the Deck Stewards.Performs as a Bar/Wine Waiter if and when requested by supervisor.Cleans and maintains his/her assigned areas and equipment according to Public Health standards.Executes strict Public Health practices in all aspects of the position.Ensures the readiness for any announced or unannounced Public Health inspection, whether it's completed internally or by external authorities.Uses ships equipment with care and reports faulty or broken equipment.Strives to minimize breakage and wastage and follows proper procedures when disposing of garbage.Carries out embarkation and disembarkation duties including luggage handling duties.Carries out provision loading duties as required.Assists managers and supervisors with training and induction of new personnel.Attends all training sessions with the aim to further improve his/her level of performance.Follows the 10 'Non-Negotiable' steps of service at all times.Displays a thorough knowledge of the ships daily activities to be able to advise the guests.Provides Silversea service to guests and crew at all times.Confidently and professionally engages with guests, using the guest names at all times.Assists with regular inventories of the bar department equipment.Displays cost and quality awareness.Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving relevant people as required. Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor.Adherence to the Company's code of conduct at all times.Assists guests with their general requests/needs in an efficient and prompt manner.Practices preventative maintenance. Keeps the Head Bartender promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance
