Description
The role will assist Area Director Field Technology Services to oversee all project management and technology-related activities for Hotel Opening and Acquisition projects in Area. This role will require strong leadership, project management, and technical and business communication skills in working with and supporting owners, the Hyatt Operational team, Hyatt Design Service team. This role also overseeing external Technology Consultants, vendors and internal Hyatt teams in order to align them with Hyatt IT strategies and standards and assist them to understand the commercial and operating benefits and rationale of the Hyatt Technology ecosystem.
This role will work closely with the regional opening & transition team on projects, to ensure all technology solutions and infrastructure deployed at new opening properties are following Hyatt's IT standards.This role will be responsible for conducting "On-boarding" training for new IT manager hired for opening & transition properties, and properly handover all IT systems to the property IT manager after the project is completed.
30% travel time will be required for this role.
Position Responsibilities include:
1. Attend the project IT Kick-off meeting and provide an overview of the technology to be implemented for this project, budgets and timelines.
2. Ensure certified technology consultants/contractors are hired on Hyatt projects.
3. Review and approve the IT budget proposal from the Technology consultant and/or from team members working with the owner/operator.
4. Attend coordination meetings during major project milestones and perform a high-level review of critical items.
5. Assist owners in making their vendor selections. Direct IT consultant and/or team members to submit records of all selected manufacturers' names, model numbers and all necessary capacity, size and features-related information. Hand over such information to the hotel operations team at the pre-opening.
6. Ensure owners and contractors/vendors are aware of supplementary and spare part requirements and minimum order quantities.
7. Monitor installation, testing and commissioning of technology systems performed by vendors/contractors.
8. Ensure that milestones at each stage have been completed by pertinent parties and update the Pre-Opening Toolkit available on the Hyatt global web SharePoint portal for review.
Qualifications
Experience
• 5 or more years hospitality technology management experience
• Hotel opening experience required
• Experience in dealing with multiple and diverse stakeholders, including hotel associates, guests and management, as well as managing vendor relationships
Education
• B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science or Management/Business preferred
Certifications
• PMP, ITIL
Management Skills
• Provide technological and managerial leadership to the hotel(s)
• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management/staff within the organization
• Ability to balance and report multiple priorities to multiple reporting sources
