Embarkation June - July - August 2024
Salary in USD//per month worked - will be informed upon interview!
Contract 17 weeks on/off
Required: experienced as such, ETO CoC ( III/6 ) , valid Certificates, good references/recommendations
Medical Insurance 12 months, yearly salary increased based on performance, pension after 10 years of sea service, single cabin
POSITION SUMMARY
Duties as directed by Chief Electrical Engineer. Maintenance and repair of electrical installation in work priority directed by Chief Electrical Engineer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Royal Caribbean International's The Royal Way, SQM standards, USPH guidelines, environmental, and safety policies.
Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various service venues and throughout the ship.

Those assigned to this position shall work with superiors and subordinates to understand and comply with the company's environmental policies and be committed to safeguard the environment.Duties as directed by the Chief Electrical Engineer.Assist the Chief Electrical Engineer with all repair and maintenance.Maintenance and repair of electrical installation in work priority directed by Chief Electrical Engineer.Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management. This is a generic position description for all Electrical Engineers, it shall serve as a base for specific job descriptions made by the Chief Electrical Engineer and approved by the Chief Engineer, for the number of Electrical Engineer positions on the ship. The specific job descriptions shall list the assigned duties for each position.
Each Electrical Engineer shall receive his specific job description in writing from the Chief Electrical Engineer, when he signs on the ship or if the job description has been changed. The specific job description shall be filed in the ships Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Recommendation: Responsibility for maintenance of the installations/equipment-listed bellow should be distributed among the Electrical Engineers, in their specific job descriptions, as applicable, but not limited to...
- Emergency and auxiliary generator and systems
- Emergency and auxiliary switchboards
- Stabilizers
- Fire alarm system including fire door control system and fire dampers
- Watertight doors control system
- Side shell doors
- Water fog system
- CO2 system
- Lifeboats and rescue boats - electrical installations.
- Winches and lifeboats.
- Mooring and anchor winches.
- Deck cranes and lifting devices.
- Platform lifts (engine / provision / deck store).
- Potable water treatment systems.
- Elevators, Escalators and Dumb lifts.
- Earth fault surveillance systems.
- Camera Surveillance System.
- Public Address system.
- Public Clock System
Some of these responsibilities can be distributed to the 1st Electrical Engineer, Assistant Electrical Engineer, or Electronic Engineer at the discretion of the Chief Electrical Engineer and Chief Engineer.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum hiring, language and physical requirements to perform the job.
Hiring Requirements:Must possess the following Licenses / Training / Certificates / Experience:- Education as Electrical, Electronic, or Power Engineer
- Well documented experience from large electrical plants onboard ships or offshore installations
- Basic Safety Training in accordance with the STCW - Convention as amended 1995
- Advance Fire Fighting Training Course in accordance with the STCW - Convention as amended 1995
- Computer Literacy; familiar with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.)
Preferred Education and/or experience from:- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent 4-year university degree preferred)
- Experience from Cruise Ships / Large Passenger Ships
- AMOS Maintenance Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Diesel Electric Propulsion Systems
- Large Machinery Automation Systems
- Navigation Equipment
- Marine Elevators
Internal Candidate Requirements: In addition to the stated hiring requirements, internal candidates are required to fulfill the following:
- Completion of one contract with a performance rating of satisfactory or above.
- AWP
- Incinerators
- Forklifts
- Laundry
- Swimming pools and whirlpools
- Galleys, pantries and bars electrical equipment
- Glass sliding doors
- Electrically operated swing doors
- Telephones, pagers, deet phones, telephone exchange
Language Requirements:- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.
- Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German preferred.
Physical Requirements:- While performing the duties of this job, the shipboard employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally/frequently/continually lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
