Position Description:
Assistant Cook Required for Silversea Cruises
We are currently searching for commis chefs and demi chef de parties (Assistant Cooks and 2nd Cooks) who are eager to learn by working in different outlets, whether it's a small intimate fine dining restaurant, a large busy Italian lunch buffet, producing picnics for guests on tour, Italian speciality pizzas and pastas, crew meals or even an outdoor bbq grill.
We are looking for recently graduated Culinary Students who have a minimum of 18 months experience in a 5* branded hotel or Michelin restaurant, who are looking for a new challenge.
Onboard, we have up to 8 restaurants, producing different cuisines for a fine dining menu which changes every day.
As well as the opportunity to work in a number of different outlets and sections, and travel the work, you will gain a huge amount of culinary knowledge, work within a truly international brigade with the ability to work your way up quickly.
As part of a small team, your role is to ensure that every plate in your area is up to our very high standards, meets both presentation and taste expectations and your section meets all health, safety and food hygiene standards.
As part of the team for the galley, you will also be involved in food hygiene inspections, stock control, ordering, rostering and training.
