Mini Pro crowned with a Red Dot Award at glittering ceremony
mini pro, the King of Compact, is officially crowned as Red Dot Design award winner
On the evening of 8 July 2025, the Convotherm mini pro was honored with the Red Dot Award 2025: Product Design at a prestigious Awards ceremony in Essen. The international jury recognized the compact combi oven for its successful combination of intelligent technology, high functionality, and clean, clear design - tailored for small, high-demand professional kitchens.
The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the most prestigious design competitions worldwide. Since 1955, it has honored products that stand out for exceptional design quality. The Convotherm mini pro impressed in a strong field of competitors: the 43-member jury from 21 countries evaluated entries from over 60 nations based on the four core principles of good design—function, allure, usability, and responsibility.
The mini pro follows in the footsteps of the Convotherm 4 and maxx which also received Red Dot Awards in 2014 and 2021 respectively.
The formal Red Dot award ceremony (The Red Dot Gala) took place in the Aalto Theater, which was transformed into a festive venue and included a varied stage program. Following the Red Dot Gala, guests were invited to the after show party ‘Designers’ Night'. This took place at the Red Dot Design Museum at the Zeche Zollverein in Essen. Here the guests were able to see the award-winning products displayed in a hall over 50m long.
Alongside Arndt Manter, Product Management Convotherm and Julie Thomssen, Global Marketing, were Markus Hilleman and Ute Walliser from Hillemann Design. Hillemann Design are long-term partners for the design of Convotherm combi ovens.
