High performance and sustainability go hand in hand with Crem’s EX LINE

High performance and sustainability go hand in hand with Crem’s EX LINE Fully committed to crafting innovative and creative solutions by adopting sustainability principles that minimize its environmental impact, Crem implements best practices to positively contribute to its people and its communities. Crem’s final goal? To develop high performance coffee machines for a better tomorrow, preserving biodiversity, minimizing its carbon footprint and GHG emissions and making sustainable use of natural resources while positively contributing to the local renewable development, reducing its environmental impact and encouraging the coffee industry to implement sustainable principles that promote responsible consumption and production. Proof of this is Crem’s new Material Circularity Index (MCI) product assessment, which showcases the brand’s EX LINE as one of the most sustainable traditional coffee machine ranges in the market. Developed by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the Material Circularity Indicator (MCI) is a methodology and a global standard model that focuses on the materials going in and the waste coming out along each step of a product’s lifecycle. With a scale of 0-1 (1 indicating a fully circular process), it also considers a product’s utility when making the calculation, which includes the intensity of use and intended lifespan. While the new Crem EX2 espresso machine has got an MCI of 0,62, the Crem EX3 espresso machine has got an even more positive mark, with an MCI of 0,65. In addition, both machines have 80% of recyclable material, maximizing their potential for circularity. As part of the Welbilt group, Crem holds a sustainability roadmap that aspires to improve its sustainability index year by year to achieve its objective to develop high-performance coffee machines for a better tomorrow, taking care of both the planet and its community. Welbilt aspires to be a responsible manufacturer, industry leader and employer not only for this generation but for those yet to come, and therefore the company aims to conduct its business in a manner that positively impacts its environment, communities, and people.
